Resume of L.C. Ammons

I started my electrical career 30 years ago in the Apprentice School at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, Virginia. I specialized in U.S. Navy submarine construction - from the Engine Room to the Sonar Dome. A year after graduation I moved back home to Southwest Mississippi where I worked on my first commercial electrical job - an addition to Southwest Regional Hospital. After 3 years working in the McComb, Mississippi area, I took a job doing new construction on oil production platforms in the Gulf of Mexico off the Louisiana coast. In 1981, U.S.G.S. required that all platforms be upgraded to the current N.E.C. I acted as Project Manager and Superintendent upgrading all of Kerr-McGee's offshore platforms to code compliance. After several years offshore, I took construction jobs in the Petro-Chemical plants between Baton Rouge and New Orleans where I worked as a "control hand" wiring and starting up control systems. I then moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and started doing commercial and light industrial work. I ran many types of jobs - medium voltage, fire alarm, large switchgear, and commercial and institutional building projects. I started estimating on and off in 1994. It turned into a full time job shortly thereafter. Since then I have been a full time Project Manager and Estimator winning and running 3 - 5 million dollars in electrical work per year.
